Chuck! Bam! Chuck, chuck!
Loud bangs filled the forest. Inosuke sat atop the roof while they watched Tanjiro and Zenitsu fight. They all took turns sparring, and Inosuke's turn just finished yesterday. His muscles still ached from overworking himself despite Tanjiro yelling at him.
"Hm.." A gentle hum that made his heart skip a beat. He wasn't scared! In fact, he knew he was way stronger than (Y/n)!! "What do you want?" Asked Inosuke stubbornly, despite the fact he took off his boar head. At least he showed... some level of affection.
Something was placed on his head.
(Y/n) stared at him with a gentle smile behind her muzzle. If it weren't for the fact her (caramel, sky, chocolate, etc.) (e/c) eyes squinting close, Inosuke would have never known she smiled in the first place.A flower crown.
Little cotton flowery shapes seemed to blossom in his head, a warm, fuzzy feeling abruptly flowing in his chest. What was this sort of feeling? I was like when he slaughtered a demon.. Pride!! No, but it was much softer than that. Happy? Why was this so confusing!?
Inosuke sat there in great, frustrating focus. (Y/n) patted his head, only intensifying the great warmth in his veins. She was so nice!! Despite him being so rude these past few days.
It was just something about the way her (h/c) hair fluttered in the breeze, and the way she would make him feel like jelly. Why wasn't he as strong and prideful as he usually was around her?
Inosuke reached up to (Y/n)'s soft hair.
And patted her back. (Y/n)'s face was ablaze with a pleasant pink shade, Inosuke grinned. Hehehe! Look at that! He could do the exact same thing to her!
(Y/n) yawned, making him stop and pull his hand back to his side, sitting relaxed. He tensed as (Y/n) turned around and laid her head on his lap. A bright red made its way to his cheeks.
Huh? What was going on? Should he shove her away? No, that'd be to mean. Tanjiro would headbutt him again. Instead, (Y/n) fell asleep.
The dense boar boy began to fiddle with her hair, gentler than he would have with anyone else. Something about this girl just made his heart flutter and his knees weak.
One time when she hugged her, Zenitsu cried while the two of them turned red. For some... odd reason. He had heard of it somewhere before. While Zenitsu was talking to Nezuko. He yelled;
"Neeeezuko-Chaaan~! I love youuu!"
What does that mean? "I love you!"? Is it... how he was feeling? Love? Love is very complicated. He stared down at
(Y/n), patting her head."I love you."
And he truly did. Only, he didn't know that he did.
....
He thinks... when he really figured out what love was... was when he spoke to Tanjiro.
"Gonpachiro?" "I told you it's Tanjiro!" Inosuke ignored him like usual. "What does love mean?"
"Oh, love?" Tanjiro asked. "I guess... It's when you'll die for someone. Like, when you care about them." "Hah?" "Oh, I guess I never thought of how to phrase it..." Tanjiro trailed off. "It's when you fall weak at the knees for that special one. Who makes you feel all... nice and fuzzy." Tanjiro described as they walked to thier next mission, resting a gentle hand on his own chest.
"Huh... nice and fuzzy?" Asked Inosuke, his voice muffled by his boar head. "Weird."
...
The day he finally realized he was in love, love, was when Zenitsu sobbed about it.
"But (Y/n)-Chan is much to fragile! How could she love you!?" He sobbed in the hotel. "There, there, Zenitsu! I'm sure she'll be alright-!" "WAHAHAHAAAAA!" Zenitsu continued to cry.
Inosuke looked to (Y/n) and his heart skipped a beat. Maybe... he did love her.

Then, came the day that anyone knew was coming. The big brother moment.
Tanjiro pulled him aside with a strange smile that made Inosuke sweatdrop.
"Listen, Inosuke- I'm sure you will protect (Y/n)-Chan. But if you hurt her, I will personally chew you ojt and kill you, understand?" "Uh- Yes?" "Good."
....
The day (Y/n) realized it, was when he was hurt badly.
She whimpered behind her bamboo, sprinting over to help Inosuke. Adreniline pumped through her veins as Nezuko ran over to help Tanjiro and Zenitsu. She brushed a black and blue hair out of his face. Inosuke was out like a light.
She pressed his forehead to his with sniffles and fearful tears streaming down her face, a gentle glow emitting from the two. Inosuke's would slowly closed, yet he still remained asleep. Why did she feel this way?
Was it the same feeling her mother would get after her father's terrible diagnose? Oh, how Inosuke worried her.
That's when she realized how worried he made her feel. How terrified she was when she saw his unconsious body crash into a tree. Slowly, the drainage of her newfound recovery ability took it's toll on her small framed body, the teenage girl falling asleep on Inosuke's tougher frame. They remained there until Nezuko helped her sister into the crate and Tanjiro carried them to the Butterfly Estate, where Inosuke would get checked up on.
...
Maybe... they really were in love.
....
The moment they kissed was while everyone was asleep. (Y/n) was fully charged and Inosuke was still eating from next to the fire place. (Y/n) sat next to him, and slowly, she reached up and patted his head.
She smiled at Inosuke, and he reached to tap her muzzle. "Why do you wear that stupid thing, anyway?"
(Y/n) took it off and smiled, Inosuke spotting her sharp canines. His face turned red and he looked away. (Y/n) did too. Eventually, Inosuke brought up the courage to look at (Y/n), catching the female's attention.
They stared at each other for what felt like forever, slowly leaning close. Finally, thier lips connected.
And it felt wonderful. (Y/n)'s (e/c) eyes fluttered close, Inosuke's hand cupping her cheeks.
So... this is what love felt like? They fell asleep in a sitting position, and Tanjiro helped the sleeping (Y/n) into the crate gently, ready to interrogate Inosuke on what had happened that night.
And that was what love felt like.
